Hello! I thought it would be cool to do an introduction article, about me. I’ve been in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years. Here are 10 fun facts which will probably surprise you;
1️⃣ My favourite foods are olives, dark chocolate, beetroot hummus and halloumi cheese. I also like port (my nan’s fault) but I don’t drink alcohol so that’s a shame.
2️⃣ I am 39, and joined the gym when I was 15. I think all the time about how great I would look if we weren’t told to ‘eat less and cardio more’ for 10 years when I started
3️⃣ I am an artist by nature. If money were no thing I would paint, draw, make music and design things all day. This is what attracted me to bodybuilding, as it’s like art for your body. I also need things to look pretty in order to feel comfortable. Here are some of my artworks;
4️⃣ I have had health issues my whole life, mostly related to my gut/nervous system. If I eat bad food, I pay for it badly, so that’s how I got onto the whole healthy nutrition thing AND that’s why I am so strict about it. Only now, in 2024, am I starting to understand why this was the case for me, and how I can help others with the same challenges.
5️⃣ I see the world in pictures and learn kinaesthetically. I need to experience something to understand it, so I have to learn backwards, doing it first and then reading about it later. I used to think I was stupid but eventually I worked out I’m just different. I also can’t deal with numbers.
6️⃣ My favourite animal is a snow leopard (I have two cats that I consider to be close enough). I have always been obsessed with peacocks and mini lop bunnies melt my heart
7️⃣ I used to have a fashion label, called Jenifer Aniela. I hand-painted silk dresses and at one stage made dresses for Miss Universe and Miss World contestants. I wasn’t rich enough to pursue this full time, so I stuck with fitness
8️⃣ I lose everything – my bank cards every 6 months at least, and pretty much anything else that is important. I never pay my bills on time. I like to live in the moment and I find them to be annoying.
9️⃣ I used to do ballroom dance, and made it to open level. There was only one boy in the studio so eventually I quit.
🔟 My favourite place in the world is the Golden Gate Bridge. I loved it since I was little. Here I am on the bridge at 33 years old, a moment I’ll remember forever.
