I am on a mission to educate, inspire women to overcome health challenges (even if it seems impossible!) and step into the life of their dreams
Do you need to eat healthy to lose weight? And what does it take to get lean? First of all, you need;
◼ Discipline
◼ Positive attitude
◼ Patience, and
◼ Healthy food (sorry ladies).
I’ve attached a bunch of the kinds of meals I ate to achieve a competition-lean look.
It is what most would consider ‘boring’ foods – lean meats, oats, rice porridge, beans, broccoli, cauliflower rice, eggs/egg whites, protein custards, potatoes, nut butters and dark chocolate.
Whilst watching VLOGS on YouTube lately, I noticed that the fitness industry still use Flexible Dieting as an excuse to eat crap, This annoys me, because I personally have had maybe 2-3 clients who would have success in weight loss with this strategy. And, I’ve had a lot of clients over the years.
It’s appealing, yes, but not realistic. Junk foods are addictive, most people can’t control themselves on them, then you have the added issue of inflammation, damage to gut bacteria, poor nutritional status and those ‘more more more’ feels you get.
With dieting, the art is really about where you chose to acquire your calories from, and when your diet is mostly whole food, you can eat
You can also reach all new heights with your health and wellbeing.
It all comes down to putting in the effort to make healthy meals enjoyable to you. Over time, you build up a bunch of favourites that you look forward to eating over and over again.
For lifestyle change, flexibility is key and your diet would be way more exciting than this. I only took out cheese, fruit, protein bars etc a few weeks before this post because for comp, the body fat level you aim to reach is not normal. So you need all the ‘obstacles’ and variables out of the way (aka junk food and it’s associated problems, and packaging errors).
So when trying to lose fat, stick to basics. Give your body the nutrition it needs, and know that you do need to eat healthy to lose weight.
