I am on a mission to educate, inspire women to overcome health challenges (even if it seems impossible!) and step into the life of their dreams
Mixing neuroscience and epigenetics, Dr. Joe Dispenza is at the forefront when it comes to the science of healing. I’ve been to a few of his retreats after discovering his work in 2015, and each time I’ve attended it’s had a life-altering impact on me.
So I’ll ask you; do you believe in the mystical? If not, know that it’s 100% real and in fact it is the essence of who we are. We are mystical beings living in a physical world, and as mystical beings, anything is possible.
In this post I’ll be sharing the realisations I had whilst at this retreat, and tips and tricks that might support you down the mystical path to healing as well, if that is something you’re interested in.
The Cancun retreat was in December 2024. My bestie and I needed to get up at 3am months before in order to secure our tickets to the most popular Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat location. It was also going to be his first ever 10-day retreat.
The Maya resort was amazing, with multiple pools, comfy egg chairs, hammocks, restaurants. It was so big we managed 15K steps/day without ever leaving the hotel. It was right on the beach, and the ocean was warm like a bath. It was beautiful.
There were 2300 other participants from all over the world. The general day structure went like this; a lecture, followed by a meditation, followed by a meal, repeat 3 times. We are asked to sit in our chairs for hours in the live meditations, as the sound reverberates through the room.
We completed about 50-hours of meditation total, each with a different goal, be it clearing, balancing, creating a new future, opening ourselves up to a mystical experience. Most mornings started at 6:45am with a walking meditation on the beach. There is no down time – it’s an immersive experience.
For me personally, I had a few mystical experiences, and more than past retreats. I experienced a past life of mine, had some of my trauma ‘taken away’, and received information about things I could do to further heal. I even experienced different possible realities for my own life.
I’ll save my personal experiences for another post, but for the rest of this one I’l focus on how you can benefit from his work like I have, and know that this applies to any kind of healing (not just Joe Dispenza).
If there is one thing I know about healing, it’s that it doesn’t come in the way you expect (how do you propose you can predict the mystical?). Whilst waiting in the line to register I pulled a card from the staff – healed.
I was disappointed at first, as I wanted to focus on my abundance – my business, financial freedom, creativity. But, as Joe Dispenza says, things show up in ways we don’t expect. Our job is to be open. What this tells me is that in order to reach this place of abundance, I first need to be healed. And so that’s what the theme for the entire retreat was for me.
So you need to make sure you’re open, and you drop your expectations. Every experience I had on that retreat supported me in the goal of being healed, and in more ways than I could have expected if I was following my logical mind.
Or at minimum, you would need to be seeking that. There is so much to experience and in ways that can’t be expressed in words (not by me, anyways), and this is the centre of his work and the focus – to open your mind to a mystical experience, so you can then believe that anything is possible.
I find this easy as my mind has always been open to experience, but for a stubborn skeptic (someone who doesn’t even want to understand this world), I wonder if they could gain any benefit from the experience.
I have since read how trauma actually opens a ‘gateway’ for the mystical, as there is massive rupture in your energy field when trauma occurs. If you’re young (under 7), some of your energetic body will remain young and open to experience, and the rest of you will continue on with life in the material (‘real’) world.
Having had massive trauma myself I find the mystical ‘easy’ and the ‘real’ word more difficult, but learning this helped me make sense of that.
When I really connect, the things you experience are out-of-this-world. Burdens can be lifted, and a whole new understanding of you, your life, and this world can be presented. I found my body completely overrun by a mystical presence during some of the meditations, and I witnessed others having profound experiences.
Sometimes you can hear people screaming, groaning, crying, and sometimes having orgasms, too. In the walking meditations people walk around as if possessed, so deep in their experience as if nothing else exists.
When you’re having this kind of experience, the whole world drops away. You’re so deep in it, that you don’t even remember who or where you are. You make sounds you’re not aware of, and see things you cant un-see. It’s magical, really.
You can be healed at a Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat. Or even in your own home, whilst doing his work.
If you believe you can heal, you will, but it takes a lot to move past the material world and its teachings. The medical system, the food system, education, they’re all teaching us how things work on the material plain – which is slow, heavy, and riddled with stress and disease.
The energetic realm, however, is filled with possibility – things are easy, they move faster, and the ‘impossible’ becomes possible. When you read his books, he highlights the science and case studies which prove this to be true, so you start to foster this belief as you work through his books.
When you go to a retreat, you’re surrounded by believers, and so now you’re just there ready to give it your all, and have a mystical experience for yourself.
There is no way of healing unless you let go of who you think you are. In meditations I notice all the time my mind trying to ‘influence’ what comes through – more money, a family of my own – things I want but which I don’t know are actually on the path for me.
Healing involves surrendering to your path, it’s not about creating a life that looks good on Instagram or one that you think people will be jealous about. It’s about finding wholeness and connecting to ‘nothing’ – the energetic world that exists beyond this physical reality.
So that’s how you gain maximum benefit from his amazing healing work! Dr Joe provides the blueprint, but the rest is up to you.
Have you read any of his work? If so, drop a comment below! I’m curious to know about your experiences.
